I used to commute about 23 kms each way. Now, its down to about 7. Now that I drive a lost less kilometers, I am viewing driving more as a treat than a (sometime) chore. Probably because I can now afford my gas bill.

Similar but different.
Ever since I was assigned my work van I've barely driven my X.
I've come to appreciate the X and rowing your own gears a lot more since.

I moved closer to work. Life is so much better.
Getting 12MPG out of my V8 isn't a problem cause my commute is short.
My 6MT isn't a chore in bumper to bumper traffic, it's a magic level that's fun to use.
Driving somewhere after I've already driven home from work isn't a pain, it's a pleasure.
Everyone should live close to their work. You use less gas, waste less time and diving becomes awesome at all times.

Oh and I was driving 20 miles each way in Southern California traffic. Trying to guess the distance in KM but my brain can't so math right now.

20 miles would be about 30 km exactly, since a km is 2/3rds of a mile.

That was my rough guess, but I didn't want to list in it case I was wrong!
